PM Matru Vandana Yojana 2026 :- The PM Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit program run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers to compensate for wage loss during pregnancy and ensure adequate nutrition.

The financial incentive is delivered milestones-wise to monitor the healthcare of the mother and child:

• First Child (Total 5,000):
  • 1st Installment (3,000): After early registration of pregnancy on the MCP Card (Mother and Child Protection) and completing at least one Ante-Natal Checkup (ANC).
  • 2nd Installment (2,000): Paid after child birth registration and after the child receives the first cycle of standard immunizations (BCG, OPV, DPT, and Hepatitis-B).
• Second Child (Total 6,000):
  • To promote gender equality and protect the girl child, a lump-sum amount of 6,000 is granted if the second born newborn is a girl child.

PM Matru Vandana Yojana Eligibility

• The applicant must be a pregnant woman or a lactating mother registered under the scheme.
• The woman must be at least 19 years old at the time of pregnancy registration.
• Exclusions: Women employed in regular service with the Central Government, State Governments, or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are not eligible.
